It would be an understatement to say I’m thrilled to share this sleek logo design for Onyx Styling Co! Not only is this an incredibly stunning brand, but it is my very first brand-intensive design! With brand design intensives, you receive the starting pieces to get your brand feeling more cohesive and professional. Full branding projects entail a lot more strategy and steps that you might not need right away. Instead, a design-intensive structure provides you with a ‘starter brand’ including all the basics you will need to get going.
Sleek Logo Design for Onyx Styling Co
Onyx Styling Co. delivers a luxury styling experience to the everyday woman. This is a luxurious experience where everything is done for you – it’s the future of retail. Onyx curates a wardrobe that accentuates each body type, coloring personal aesthetics, and image goals.
From Sheena’s own words, “Onyx Styling Co. believes in empowering women with a defined personal style. We teach you how to use your wardrobe as a tool to boost your confidence and make getting dressed easier than ever before.”
The design-intensive structure does involve some prep work to ensure the day runs smoothly. It begins with an in-depth questionnaire that provides a solid foundation to begin brainstorming the direction of the design. From there, I do my own research and prepare a couple of mood boards and color palettes that will be a great fit for your business. After that, we schedule a prep call where you select which direction you would like to go in.
Sheena from Onyx selected a sleek, refined mood board. This direction mirrors the luxurious all-in-one experience that she provides. The chosen color palette includes mostly browns, creams, whites, and blacks. This sophisticated color story is clean, neutral, and contrasting. It elevates her services and branding to feel very high-end.
By the end of design-intensives, clients receive a primary and alternate logo, color palette, typography recommendations, other supporting design elements, and a brand board. However, you pay for the entire day of design work. Once the logo is approved and finalized, the rest of the day is open.
Because Sheena approved her logo design by noon, I used the rest of the afternoon to design extra deliverables. She walked away with the main logo design with three alternates, color palette, typography, brand board, business card, notecard, referral card, and social media graphics.
If you are looking for the essentials to launch, design intensives are the way to go! Including a modest budget and quick turnaround time, this service is ideal for new business owners. Full brand projects involve a deep dive into strategy and design including multiple steps, presentations, and phone calls. This process is incredibly beneficial for well-established businesses. However, it is a high time commitment. In an intensive structure, we pair all of that down into a days worth of design work by cutting out a lot of the back and forth with revisions that usually happen over email. If this sounds like a good fit for your business, let’s chat!
