I’m over the moon to share this brand design for photographer Willow Walk! Before we hop into all the juicy details, let’s go back to the beginning. Autumn contacted me back in December looking for a rebrand for her wedding and family photography business. She was already booked out for well over a year and has plans to start an online wedding mentorship course.

We hopped on a call and hit it off immediately. Autumn is one of those people you meet and become fast friends. She’s hilarious, real, and incredibly motivated; some of my favorite qualities in a client. She already planned to create a beautiful new website on Showit, so just needed a cohesive visual identity to create a strong foundation to support her business growth.

For Autumn’s project, we completed a Brand Nurture Week. Within five days, we complete a full brand identity from a mini strategy and creative direction, to logo suite development, brand buildout, extra deliverables, and launch. By the end of Willow Walk’s week, we designed a fun personality with engaging and balanced typography, unique layouts, and fun illustrative elements.

Logo Suite & Brand Exploration

Strategy, Creative Direction, & Color Palette

With the brand nurture week process, the first part of the week is dedicated to the strategy and creative direction including the color palette. The color palette for this brand is approachable and rich in tone. Pairing soft muted neutrals with bold rich accent colors offers a well-balanced palette.

Logo Suite

On day two, we move on to logo suite development. Set in place with the creative direction, we decided it best to create the logotype as a stylized serif typeface forming connections between letterforms. This is representative of Autumns personality and the journey she takes her clients on. Additionally, I designed a specific logo for her to utilize in her course called Evermore.

Custom Illustrations

When discussing the brand design on the initial call, custom illustrations were a large priority for Autumn. She wanted to utilize these unique elements to being personality, depth, and versatility to her brand. The illustrations have simple linework with blocks of color. This provides a subtle texture without being too detailed or juvenile.

Extra Deliverables

Midway through a brand nurture week is when I design the extra elements that help your brand come to life. Because every business is different, this part of the process looks different for each client. For Autumn, we focused a lot of time on the illustrations as well as created custom Honeybook templates. With Honeybook’s new smart file feature, you are able to create beautiful, engaging, and professional files to send to clients. Providing this to Willow Walk levels up their client process and helps automate her business.
